about

Inspired by Jeff Buckley - A track written about a (non existent in my experience) regretful breakup!

Main groove originally came from jamming over video in Lockdown with James Breen on drums

4 Years later, I decided to finish it, musically and then add moody dark lyrics to the chords, which are mainly all in minor.

lyrics

In the frozen night, is my soul
You fade to black
The curtain has come crashing down
And I prayed you come back

You are not to blame
For the killing of the flame
We played all our cards
In this summer’s disregard

Oh, love's sweet surrender turned to bitter tears
As we drift apart, fading into the years
In these shadows I'll remain, lost and not at one
For our love, like whispers, has come undone

cold, creeps through my bones,
will I ever find my home,
Alone, Here?

I thought I wanted to say
Goodbye
But my phone don’t ring
And my heart don’t sing

Oh, love's sweet surrender turned to bitter tears
As we drift apart, fading into the years
In these shadows I'll remain, lost and not at one
For our love, like whispers, has come undone

Oh, how I long for your tender touch
But now all that's left is this hollow clutch
I'll hold on, though the flame's grown dim
Break down the wall to let me in

tears, fall like rain
Wash away the pain
From the depths of my soul
Take me out of this hole

Like a river, it flows through my veins
Your Whisper echoes round my brain
And the wind blows cold
These cards will fold

Its fair to say
That I fought for yesterday
Love ain’t here
You’ve disappeared

My door don’t ring
My phone wont call
My heart don’t sing
Don’t want this Wal
Can’t say I’m better off
Can’t say I’m better off
In my winter
